Alexis Perrot

PhD Student

Alexis PerrotAfter obtaining his high school diploma in Sciences in 2011, in Argenton-sur-Creuse (France), Alexis Perrot (born on the 2nd of November 1993) started a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Environment at the University of Limoges. He worked at the "Laboratoire de Chimie des Substances Naturelles" under the supervision of Prof. Vincent Chaleix, where he investigated the synthesis of a natural xanthone in order to study its biocide properties. He obtains his bachelor's degree in 2015.

Then, he entered the "International Master of Polymer Sciences" at the University of Strasbourg and Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Germany). During his master's degree, he studied the functionalisation of chitosan at the "Institut de Chimie et Procédés pour l'Environnement, l'Energie et la Santé" (ICPEES) under the supervision of Prof. Luc Avérous. Afterwards, he entered the "Institut Charles Sadron", under the supervision of Prof. Nicolas Giuseppone, where he worked on materials incorporating molecular motors.

Since october 2017, he has joined the SAMS team for his PhD thesis, under the supervision of Prof. Nicolas Giuseppone and Dr. Emilie Moulin. His work focuses on the use of polymer chains combined with rotative molecular motors in order to obtain new photosensitive materials.
