Post Doctoral

Erol Licsandru

Erol Licsandru was born in Bucharest, Romania. He graduated his bachelor studies in chemical engineering with a specialty in organic chemistry from “Politehnica” University Bucharest, followed by a masters in chemical synthesis of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics at the same University.

He followed his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Mihai Barboiu at Institut Européen des Membranes in Montpellier. The title of his thesis is “Dynamic Systems for the Translocation of Water, Ions or Electrons”, and treated the subject of bio-inspired self-assembled structures able to perform the transport of chemical species. A chapter of his thesis concerned supramolecular molecular assemblies of triarylamines (TAAs) used as molecular electrodes in a templated matrix. His first postdoc was on the subject was industrial side product integration from bio-refineries in thermosetting resins.

Currently, he is glad to be part of the SAMS team for a postdoc on the subject of supramolecular polymerization of triaryl amines and their applications.
