Healable Supramolecular Polymers as Organic Metals

In this paper, we show that conducting supramolecular polymers made of triarylamine, and that have been recently discovered by our group, can be extended to soft materials in the form of highly conducting gels. We show that these gels combine, for the first time, self-healing properties and metallic conductivity. We also fully explain the physics behind this metallic conductivity by highlighting the formation of “supramolecular polarons” and we also show how these fibers can be directly form in ITO electrodes over several micrometers.
